Adult Social Care - Client Level Data (ASC-CLD)

Read the Adult Social Care – Client Level Data local authority invitation letter from February 2021, sent on behalf of the Department of Health and Social Care.

ASC-CLD guidance - This document gives the specification for the voluntary Adult Social Care – Client Level Data collection project being run by the Department of Health and Social Care. The document also includes the background, ambition and benefits.

ASC-CLD data template - This is an example of what the proforma looks like, but please note that throughout the project, the specification and template are likely to undergo several iterations. For local authorities who have signed up to the project, the current version of the submission template can be accessed via the Data Landing Portal.

Further information about the ASC-CLD project

The Secretary of State Direction has been published for the CLD collection, and the associated Data Provision Notice (DPN) will be issued separately to each participating local authority as they sign up to submit data. Both documents detail the legal basis and purpose of the collection, data flows and data sharing arrangements between individual LAs and their local NHS Digital Data Services for Commissioners Regional Office (DSCRO).

A separate, dedicated ASC-CLD project website has been created which will be the main source of information and support materials for the project. The website is hosted by Arden & Gem CSU, who are acting as the lead DSCRO for the project.

If you have any general questions about the project or technical queries about the specification or guidance, you can contact the Department of Health and Social Care Project Team at socialcaredata@dhsc.gov.uk

If you have more specific queries about the process for signing up to the project, data transfer via the Data Landing Portal, data flows or other Information Governance queries, you can contact agem.adultsocialcare@nhs.net. Arden & Gem will also be able to connect you with your local DSCRO.

The collection is now LIVE for local authorities who wish to take part.
