Generic medicines and special medicinal products (quarterly information)

On 1 July, the Health Service Products (Provision and Disclosure of Information) Regulations 2018 entered into force. As part of this new legislation, manufacturers, importers and wholesalers of generic medicines and special medicinal products are required to provide the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), every quarter, with information about their purchases and/or NHS sales of generic medicines and special medicinal products.

To participate in this collection your organisation will require an ODS Code.
Please follow the steps below to request a new code, or to confirm your existing code. If you already have a code you still need to follow this process.

1. open the Organisation Code request form
2. complete the form with your organisation details
3. tick “Medicines only to be used for DHSC quarterly data collection” for the "Service your organisation provides" question
4. send the completed form

After processing your form, the ODS team will notify our Data Collections team of your organisation details and contact information.
