NHS Digital is responsible for providing a range of digital services to the health and social care system in England.
We are commissioned by central government organisations, mainly the Department of Health and NHS England, to collect information, manage and publish standards, run major national services and train people how to use them.
We are working in partnership with the health and care technology industry, to deliver our Personalised Health and Care 2020 programmes (PHC2020).
We signed a strategic partnership with techUK in April 2017. This will help to ensure early industry involvement and allow suppliers to prepare and plan for PHC2020 opportunities.
We innovate with digital technologies
We support the development of interoperable applications, using open standards, open data and open APIs, that will help to improve patient care.
We are proud to support and enable the innovative work of Code4Health, who provide tools, knowledge and skills to develop and implement high quality digital solutions. We provide advice, information, assurance and resources to support the initiative.
Why we need to work together
Local health and care organisations need to use NHS Digital's national systems, standards and services, as part of their contracts with commissioners.
We need your supplier expertise to put our technology and data in place, to improve health and social care.
