Urgent and emergency care (formerly domain B)

Helping to deliver the national urgent and emergency care strategy by providing the infrastructure, systems, technology and processes that enable the development of digital urgent care services.

These programmes will improve telephone and online triage and provide improved technology to support clinicians, so that treatment is better targeted and patients are referred to the right place, first time. There are 3 programmes within this area of work.

Access to service information

Developing an open platform that holds accurate, up-to-date information about urgent and emergency care services. Clinicians will be able to access real time, up-to-date information about available services in order to successfully manage demand on urgent care.

Providing a fast and convenient alternative to the 111 phone service and an option for people who want to access 111 online.
