Biography

Deborah joined the Board of NHS Digital as a Non-Executive Director on 1 July 2018 where she leads for assurance and risk and Chairs the Audit and Risk Committee. (ARC)

Deborah has a long-standing passion and commitment to the NHS which stretches back to 2000 when she started as a volunteer at University College Hospitals. Deborah’s previous Non-Executive Director roles include: Chair of the Audit and Risk Assurance committee at the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA); The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust where she chaired the Audit Committee for 6 years; the Health Protection Agency where she chaired the Biological Medicines Technical Committee and NHS Camden where she chaired the Audit Committee.

Deborah’s executive career is in the financial services sector. She worked at Newton Investment Management for 20 years and became a director of the company. Since 2010 she has worked at Veritas Investment Management where she manages portfolios for private clients, trusts and charities.

Deborah is involved in several charitable projects including a winter homeless night shelter and a weekly welfare scheme in Camden.
