Scope and context

Records and document management responsibilities are defined by legal obligations (see 8.1 above) and in context and scope of a number of key standards and best practice obligations.

These are:

Records Management Code of Practice for Health & Social Care 2016

International Standard on Quality Management ISO9001:2015

The National Archives portfolio of records management guidance

The British Standard on Evidential Weight and Legal Admissibility of Electronic Information BS10008: 2014

Risk mitigation

Consistent and effective dissemination and implementation of this Policy, and its supporting procedural / process guidance, is essential to ensure that best practice standards are adhered to and in order to deliver effective management of corporate records and documents. This policy and supporting procedural guidance / processes will serve, through effective implementation, to mitigate organisational risk in this area.
