NHS Dental Statistics for England - 2016-17, Second Quarterly Report

This quarterly report brings together information on NHS dental activity in England up to quarter 2 2016-17 and information on the number of patients seen by an NHS dentist up to quarter 3 of 2016-17.
In the 24 month period ending 31st December 2016, 22.2 million adult patients were seen by an NHS dentist, representing 51.4 per cent of the adult population.
The number of children seen by an NHS dentist in the 12 months to 31st December 2016 was 6.7 million. This equates to 57.8 per cent of the child population.
There were 9.7 million courses of treatments (CoT) in quarter 2 of 2016-17, a decrease of 133,414 (1.4 per cent) on quarter 2 of 2015-16, based on provisional data.
